L'Incomparable Necklace ($55 million) The brown-cut yellow diamond that makes up this piece is 407.48 carats, and was discovered in the 1980s in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was cut and carved for four years, although its initial weight was 890 carats, all to be part of this necklace, designed by the Mouawad jewelry house. This necklace was first presented to the public at the Basel International Jewelry Fair in 2013 and quickly became one of the most expensive pieces of jewelry in the world. Valued at $55 million and recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the most valuable necklace in the world in 2013.
